Big bucks on offer for new Aldi jobs

-

ALDI Australia’s next big recruitment drive is under way, and it is offering new recruits a whopping starting salary of more than $101,000, with a fully expensed company car and phone.

The bargain supermarket is expanding its operations in Victoria and is recruiting 10 area managers across the state to help manage the company’s current 148 stores.

ALDI’s newly-recruited managers may also oversee the supermarket chain’s four new stores that are set to open in Torquay, Gladstone Park, Lower Plenty and Doncaster East by the end of this year.

The role of an area manager is an executive position that consists of being responsible for three to five stores, overseeing staff, recruitment, training, as well as profit and loss management.

The area manager’s salary in Victoria is consistent across all states, with a starting salary of $101,800, up to $155,000.

According to SEEK data, the top earning capacity of $155,000 is higher than: ICT (information and communication technology); ARCHITECT ($141,687) tasked with designing and maintaining computer networks; ENGINEERING management ($133,211); CONSTRUCTION management ($129,416), and; TAX lawyer ($122,172).

ALDI is looking for professionals from all sectors to apply for the role, even if they do not have any retail experience.

Successful recruits go through to a 12-month training program where they show area managers all of the parts of ALDI’s retail business.

This involves working in stores and learning the role of a Store Assistant right through to Store Manager, including stacking shelves and serving customers at the register.
