Firearms taken from Lara home

Multiple offences were recorded in North Geelong, Lara, Highton and Corio, with firearms stolen from a home in Forest Rd, North Lara.

An incident in Canopus Cres, Lara, also involved the theft of a motor vehicle, which was later found burnt-out.

There were four incidents involving premises under constructi­on in Highton, Armstrong Creek and Torquay, one at a holiday home in Ocean Grove, and a six involving garages or sheds.

Incidents were reported at a Highton service station, retail stores in Belmont, Geelong and Newtown, a medical centre in Geelong, factories in Moolap and Breakwater, an office at Apollo Bay and sports areas in Grovedale, Newcomb and Newtown.

Three vehicles were stolen in Geelong, two in St Albans Park and others in Norlane, Corio, Newtown, Highton and Marshall.

The vehicle from Marshall was stolen from the train station carpark, while the one from Corio was stolen from the Geelong Grammar School campus.

There were a number of incidents in Geelong West, including in Pakington, Aberdeen, Britannia and Clarence streets, as well as in Norlane, Corio, Highton, Belmont and Grovedale.

Most thefts are from vehicles parked in the street, driveways and carports, however, this past week some have been reported at premises under constructi­on in Geelong West, parkland in Staughton Vale, a Belmont service station and a shopping complex in Grovedale.

Among items stolen were building and power tools, and small computer and household items. Ten incidents involved the theft of numberplat­es.

Offences were reported in Corio, Norlane, Geelong, Marshall, Lara, Waurn Ponds, North Geelong and Leopold, with a high number involving damage to vehicles and windows.

There’s been an increase in reports of graffiti, mostly at train stations in Marshall, North Geelong, Waurn Ponds, North Shore, Corio and Lara.
