BABY, WHAT A NIGHT!

THERE were plenty of bumps under scrutiny last night but this wasn’t the tribunal, this was a baby bonanza on the Brownlow red carpet and Geelong’s wives and girlfriends were centre stage.

No stranger to the festivities, wife of retired Brownlow medallist Nadia Bartel was back in the spotlight, this time interviewing the women as they arrived.

Bartel, who is due to give birth to her second son in the coming weeks, was dressed in stunning white J’Aton couture, a favourite of the style guru, who has worn many J’Aton designs, including on her wedding day in 2014.

Brit Davis, fiancee of Cats captain Joel Selwood, was styled by stylist Lana Wilkinson, wearing a floor-length, longsleeved textured Paolo Sebastian gown and mixed things up with transparent Yeezy heels.

This was Jordan Ablett’s first Brown- low red carpet since moving to Geelong with husband Gary. Also styled by Wilkinson, the mum-to-be also went for the clear accessory, with a vintage Valentino clutch.

Geelong bridal house, Pearls & Roses Bridal, who dressed Kim Longergan and Georgia Mackie last year, was back again to adorn some of the ladies in local designs.

Demi Miles, fiancee of midfielder Mitch Duncan, was dressed in a Pearls & Roses custom red, sleeveless gown with a show-stopping split, paired with gold Katy Perry heels and statement earrings.

South Australian stylist Kellie Nobes sourced her clutch and earrings.

Although a seasoned WAG, Miles admitted the red carpet was still a nerve-racking experience.

“The carpet is daunting because I would rarely walk a red carpet,” she said. “But overall it’s exciting.”

She said she looked to seasoned Brownlow attendees, Renée Enright and Georgia Mackie for red carpet advice this week.

“I love that the Brownlow is a great way to celebrate the season and also an acknowledgment of the hard work the players put in year round,” she said.

“It’s also fun getting ready and putting on a nice gown, I basically wear active wear 24-7 so it’s nice to dress up.”

Miles, Georgia Minear, partner of Mark Blicavs, and Emma Richards, engaged to Tom Stewart, all got ready together, having their hair done by Rixons 343 Newtown.

Both Miles and Minear had their makeup done by Geelong-based makeup artist Tess Holmes.

First-time Brownlow attendee Caitlin Miller, fiancee of first-year star Tim Kelly, also wore a Pearls & Roses design.

Nadia Bartel With a soon-to-be Bartel sharing the spotlight, a glowing Nadia took to the red carpet in all-white J’Aton, where she also showed off her hosting skills for the Seven broadcast.
