Labor slammed on speed

-

A RE-ELECTED Labor government will not raise the speed limit on the Princes Freeway to 110km/h, saying an increase would risk more motorists being injured or killed.

More likely it will send their budget into the red from getting less fines. Richard Evans

Yeah raising the limit is just too much commonsense for our money grabbing state governments. Chris Lloyd

Labor won’t be in power after the next election. Timothy Nifty Norton

That’s stupid. I was looking forward to it being 110km/h. Chloe Durkin

One less vote for them then. Justin Craddock

It should have been 110km/h 10 years ago. Nick Bowers

You would have to be blind not to have noticed most people do more than 100km/h anyway. David Nunn

Maybe 140km/h is a bit excessive but 120km/h would be fine, the road is in excellent condition and is still extremely safe at 120km/h, which a lot of people already do along that road Liam Mifsud

Good job don’t need faster. Susanne Sexton

Need to focus more on use of mobile phones while driving. Immediate loss of licence would get my vote. Victor Robb

Rubbish. It’s all about revenue. If it was raised more people would drive at the limit rendering the cash cameras useless. Bring on the election. Rod Whitworth

We’re one of the few countries in the world to stick with 100km/h. Makes you wonder when we will come out of the dark ages. Michael Brennan

I’ve been travelling to Melbourne every day for 20 years. There is no need for speed increases. Ketut Suwitra

If you’re incompetent enough to think going 100km/h on that highway in a modern vehicle is adequate, you really should be sitting on a train. Max Lomax

It’s a joke. It is a very boring trip. The limit should be at least 110km/h. Neil Beamish
