Noll puts line under charge

CONSTRUCTI­ON of what’s been described as the biggest house ever built in Geelong is coming together near Ceres.

Reportedly measuring nearly 300 squares, the house is being built for prominent Geelong businessma­n Robert Costa (pictured).

Constructi­on plans were SINGER Shannon Noll, pictured, said he wants to put his cocaine possession behind him and get back to work after he was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond following a guilty plea.

The 43-year-old’s lawyer, Bryan Wrench, entered the plea at Sutherland Local Court yesterday for one count of possessing a prohibited drug.

Noll was caught by police with 0.53 grams of cocaine at Caringbah Hotel in southern Sydney on September 13. approved the year after the 41ha farming property near Ceres sold in 2014 for $1.4 million.

The lavish constructi­on, which has been under way for several years, is being handled by Geelong home builder Malishev.

Magistrate Glenn Walsh noted farmers and celebritie­s were among those providing character references for Noll who, he said, had fallen from his “high perch” and suffers “a severe case” of depression after his father’s death.

“If he (Noll) wants to resurrect and continue his career, clearly a ... conviction would be most adverse to him,” Mr Walsh said. above a valley in the Barrabool Hills.

Trade sources said the project had been a drain on Geelong’s constructi­on industry, with many tradies called out to work on the home.

The house is clad in Mt Gambier limestone, featuring moulded plinths, round stone columns and moulded architrave blocks.

Mr Costa is chairman of Costa Asset Management and a long-serving member of the Geelong Performing Arts Centre Trust and Barwon Health Foundation Future Fund Board.

He declined to speak about the private home.
