Grammar kids top festival bill

- Pre-sale tickets are available Tuesday at 9am, followed by general release on Wednesday.

FORMER Geelong Grammar students Monte Morgan and Harvey Miller of Client Liaison are set to headline the Bellarine Peninsula’s new Boxing Day festival.

The line-up for the inaugural Dancing Heads event was released this week, and also features Dan of Cut Copy, Fleetmac Wood, Groove City and Dean Turnley.

Boxing Day at Barwon Heads Hotel has been a popular tradition for many years, but the fun has now been formalised with an event led by the team behind Geelong venues UNO DanceClub and Bloom.

“Once the opportunity arose to take the reins, we thought it would be best to take it to a whole new level and transform the carpark into the newest boutique music festival site,” organisers said.

Securing Client Liaison was a major coup for Dancing Heads, given the duo’s previous inclusion at events such as the Falls Festival and Splendour in the Grass.

The local lads were also nomoniated for two ARIA Awards this week. As well as Best Live Act, they’re finalists in the Best Video category for ‘Survival in the City’.

The pair has spent years forming the narrative behind their brand, presenting themselves as late-80s, early-90s CEOs and embracing the fashions, attitude and language that come with it.

The event will also feature performances by UNO DJs, House Cut, Dizzy Daryl, Brad Mayes and Liam Howarth.
