THIS PROPERTY IS A SHORE THING

- TESSAT HAYWARD

THROW a line in or paddle on to Swan Bay from the comfort of your own home at this Queenscliff property that has just hit the market. The sprawling 3.64ha property at 4 McDonald Rd is positioned in a tightly held pocket of Queenscliff and has its own lake with direct water access to Swan Bay. RT Edgar, Point Lonsdale agent Felix Hakins said you could glide through the mouth of the lake on to Swan Bay on a kayak or stand up paddleboard and enjoy the peace and quiet.

“It is one of the only dwellings that has water access to Swan Bay from the property,” Mr Hakins said.

“People also do look at catching some bream off there. It is really nice there, especially at sunset.”

Mr Hakins said there were not many properties of that size so close to town. “It is a terrific location and a unique property,” he said.

As well as its own lake, the property also has a three-bedroom weatherboard cottage.

The house, which is used as a holiday rental, has an open-plan living area with galley kitchen, three bedrooms that share the updated main bathroom plus a laundry with second toilet that is accessed from the covered outdoor entertainment area.

There is also a double garage, stone pizza oven and cubby house on stilts that hides in the trees.

Mr Hakins said buyers could extend the home or leave it as it is and have a great little beach home that captures views from every window.

The luxury home next door on a similar land size sold for $3.225 million in 2016, according to CoreLogic.

An expressions of interest campaign for the waterfront property will close on Monday, November 12, at 5pm. Price hopes are $2.7 million to $2.95 million.
