Luxury homes crack the million-dollar mark

THEY’RE entertaine­rs’ dreams with a difference — big homes with even bigger lists of luxury features that create the ultimate family homes.

They’re the first houses to rack up million-dollar sales in the eastern Geelong suburb of St Albans Park, where the median house price is just over $400,000.

The four-bedroom houses are set on large residentia­l blocks between 2000sq m and nearly 3500sq m in a neighbourh­ood where big homes are the best.

Buxton, East Geelong agent Donna Buckingham said it was the shed with its own driveway and an enormous man-cave at 6-7 Cedarwood Court that put the 6-7 Cedarwood Court icing on the cake for buyers who paid $1.069 million after just 13 days on the market.

The four-bedroom house provided the living options expected of a big family home, like an open-plan living area, a centrepiec­e stone kitchen and a contempora­ry ensuite with a double stone vanity and double shower in the main bedroom suite.

The extras lie in a cinema room (with built-in sound system) and an outdoor entertainm­ent area (also with a built-in sound), a built-in barbecue with stone benches and a large swimming pool with a water feature, wading pool and spa for that extra level of luxury.

“We haven’t had anything of that calibre come on to the market,” Ms Buckingham said.
