BRAZEN THIEVES STRIKE AGAIN

- OLIVIA SHYING

A GROVEDALE bike shop is the latest to have been targeted by brazen thieves intent on stealing bikes from Geelong and Melbourne, police say.

Investigators believe seven thefts, between October 28 and November 6, are linked.

Police say on each occasion a man has walked into the open store, taken a bike and fled in a waiting white Mazda ute driven by an accomplice.

Police say the latest theft was at a Marshalltown Rd store in Grovedale on Tuesday.

Stores in Pascoe Vale, Flemington, Keilor Park, Brunswick East, Hoppers Crossing and South Melbourne have also been targeted.

Police have released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to over the thefts.

The first man is believed to be of Middle Eastern or Pacific Islander appearance, about 185cm tall with a pot belly.

Police say he often wears an orange high-vis top with a hat and sunglasses.

The second man is believed to be between 30 and 40 years of age with an olive complexion and a solid build.

Anyone who recognises the men is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
