ABLETT MILLION-DOLLAR JAN JUC HOME PLAN:

-

A SPRAWLING million-dollar home is likely to be built on Jan Juc property owned by the Ablett family.

Cats superstar Gary Ablett Jr, 34, and his wife Jordan have previously indicated their long-term goal was to build a family home in Jan Jac, where his mother Sue lives.

The Geelong Advertiser has seen plans for a proposed fourbedroom, $1.025 million home, with a planning application for it to be built on the Jan Juc land that once housed Ablett’s childhood home.

The land is owned by a company, which lists Gary Robert Ablett as a director.

Plans show the two-storey home would have plenty of room for a family.

Ground level includes a huge open plan kitchen, meals and family area — complete with a fireplace.

But the main kitchen may not get much use, with a full butler’s pantry adjoining it.

A separate dining room and study/library — combined measuring more than 11 metres long — greet guests as they enter the enormous home.

It’s well set up for summer barbecues with two alfresco areas adjoining the back of the house, one with direct access to the butler’s pantry.

Upstairs is home to the master suite, three additional bedrooms, bathroom and a 12metre long hallway.

It also features a storeroom as big as the bedrooms, with built in shelving.

And there’s an eight-metre long walk-in robe and dressing room.

The master suite also in- cludes a large bedroom with balcony, retreat and enormous ensuite.

It’s understood Gary’s mother lives next door to where the proposed house would be built.

The land used to host the old threebedroom Ablett family house, which was demolished in 2015.

While there was speculation townhouses would be built, it was subdivided last year ahead of the current pro- posal. According to the planning application, the building height would reach a maximum of 8.2m above ground. Ahead of Ablett’s return to the Cats from the Gold Coast, former Cats president Frank Costa said Ablett had missed his family, friends and the comfort of the Surf Coast lifestyle. “I know his heart is in Geelong and he’d like to be back near Jan Juc where his family and mates are,” Costa said in October, 2016. The couple announced in July that Jordan is pregnant with their first child.
