$4M HOME A DONE DEAL

- TESSA HAYWARD

CELEBRITY chef Shannon Bennett and actor Madeleine West have sold their luxury Lorne property.

CoreLogic data shows the sprawling property sold at the end of October for an undisclosed price.

The Vue de Monde chef and Playing for Keeps actor reduced the price on the Woods Bagot-designed fivebedroom house at 1200 Great Ocean Road, Big Hill to $4.2 million at the end of September.

The property was initially listed for sale last November for $4.65 million to $5.1 million.

The realestate.com.au listing for the property has been removed and the agent has declined to comment.

The couple have been renting the property out as a luxury holiday rental.

One-off Miele appliances are found in the kitchen that was designed by Studio Becker while Phillip Johnson landscaping surrounds the house that is perched on a dramatic hillside a short drive from Lorne.

Great Ocean Road Real Estate, Lorne agent Tyrone Provan told the Geelong Advertiser when the property was first listed that it was the best kitchen he had ever seen.

“It is a truly remarkable house, it is like a piece of art, every detail in it is of the highest calibre,” Mr Provan said. “It is truly exquisite.”

Features include a rear courtyard with outdoor kitchen that has a wood-fired oven, Brazilian parilla grill and electric rotisserie and a state-of-the-art cinema room with German-designed sound system and fully appointed bar.

Other features include a 25m indoor swimming pool with projection wall, a gym and sauna and a native garden that includes a filtered swimming billabong with cascading falls and Japanese zen spa.
