Holiday rock on the coast

-

THE Torquay Hotel has just dropped a massive musical lineup that is making us plan more many summer nights on the Surf Coast.

The hotel’s new owners want to make the venue a regular stop on the local and international touring circuit.

And their Summer Series gigs, running through to the Australia Day weekend, show they aren’t just aiming for the top shelf, but serving exclusively from it.

An obvious highlight is the aptly named A Nice Day To Go The Pub, which will celebrate Australia Day with a host of rock bands in the beer garden.

Cosmic Psychos, Cash Savage and the Last Drinks, Bad/Dreems, The Pretty Littles, Warped and The Living Eyes will be joined by a heap more acts.

The following day is Coastal Jam, which will feature a Triple J Hottest 100 listening party and a smorgasbord of DJs.

Headliners will be announced on January 2.

The festivities kick off on Boxing Day with enduring punk rockers The Living End.

After a NYE party, Didirri will arrive on January 4.

Confidence Man will bring all the best disco vibes for the perfect Sunday sesh on January 6, before a solid serve of rock with Slowly Slowly (Jan 11), and the roots grooves of Sydney’s The Beautiful Girls (Jan 13).

A weekend of indie rock will be kickstarted by Kim Churchill (Jan 18), before Fremantle foursome San Cisco arrives on Jan 20.

The series also aims to promote local talent, with many Surf Coast acts to support the headliners.
