Brayshaw’s son in rehab after crashing Portsea party
THE son of sports commentator James Brayshaw is undergoing drug rehabilitation after an alleged out-of-control outburst at a New Year’s Eve party.
An allegedly drug-fuelled Henry Brayshaw, 21, was arrested at a Portsea home about 5am on January 1.
Police were called to the property — owned by Toorak- based RT Edgar real estate director Jeremy Fox — after Mr Brayshaw was allegedly refusing to leave.
He has been charged with unlawful assault, recklessly causing injury, criminal damage and drug possession.
Mr Fox’s family was hosting a party when Mr Brayshaw allegedly showed up uninvited and started menacing young women at the party.
The former Geelong Grammar student was allegedly asked to leave eight times, but kept returning.
One partygoer told News Corp: “He was completely wired up on drugs. It was a very harrowing experience for the females in the house.”
Mr Brayshaw allegedly assaulted Mr Fox, punching him in the face before threatening to glass him with a bottle, when he tried to remove him from the multimillion-dollar mansion.
He later allegedly ripped out a garden light from the ground and tore a windscreen wiper off a car parked on the street, threatening to stab Mr Fox with them.
Mr Fox confirmed an incident happened at his property but would not comment further as it was now before the courts.
Mr Brayshaw is set to face Frankston Magistrates’ Court on May 15.
News Corp has contacted James Brayshaw for comment.
