ROCK AUSSIE ICONS READY TO

- JACOB GRAMS

THE vines are set to rumble when Leura Park Estate rocks to the sounds of iconic Aussie acts today for the By The C festival.

Staff have turned the “cow paddock” into what will be a pumping music venue into the night as fans enjoy the local drop while listening to the classic tones of Icehouse, Sunnyboys, The Church, Do Re Mi and Mental as Anything.

Around 4800 people are expected to pile into the venue and Icehouse vocalist Iva Davies said he was looking forward to the relaxed vibe.

“To be out there in that countryside is beautiful,” he said.

“It’s a different kind of vibe for the crowd and they relax into the environment well. And of course there will be a few wines to be had, that’s for sure.

“This particular line-up of bands is incredible. I’d forgotten some of The Church’s material, but they put on quite a show and the way they start their set and end their set is mind-numbing, in a very good way. It’s a real trip.”

A handful of tickets remain. Gates open at noon and music kicks off at 2pm.
