Taking it to new Heights
NEW RECORD PRICE
AN extravagant Hamlyn Heights house has smashed the suburb record by nearly $1 million.
The lavish family home at 2 Heritage Drive sold for an undisclosed price close to the asking range of $1.95 million to $2.145 million.
Selling agent Mergim Ibrahimi said the buyers were from the Geelong region.
“They weren’t really looking but this one caught their eye and they have now bought their dream home, it is a great result,” Mr Ibrahimi said.
“There was a lot of interest on it towards the end, the market was really strong in December.”
The Buxton-listed property is a modern masterpiece, with the house spread over two luxurious levels.
The ground floor consists of three bedrooms, two with walk-in wardrobes and ensuites, and a family room with bar that flows outside to the indoor solar and gas heated swimming pool and entertainment area with barbecue below a Vergola roof.
Upstairs is the open-plan kitchen, meals area and loungeroom, main bedroom suite and indoor/outdoor entertainment room.
The kitchen has Gaggenau dual ovens, custom Caesarstone waterfall island bench, induction cooktop, in-built wine fridge and a full butler’s pantry while the dining room has a huge hand-blown glass chandelier from Spain.
A full outdoor kitchen with two dishwashers and barbecue is found in the all-weather entertainment room that has a gas log fireplace.
The home smashed the suburb record of $902,000 which was set in 2016 by the 2022sq m site at 58 Sladen St.
The median house price in Hamlyn Heights has increased 11 per cent in the past year to $536,750, according to CoreLogic.
