Oliver gives City something to defend

-

RICHIE Oliver once again shouldered the run-scoring burden for City, striking a 207-ball 86 before spooning a catch to Dan Weigl from the bowling of spinner Robert Pehar (2-48, pictured). Cody Brogden (19), Logan Taylor (20) and Chris Bambury (31) all spent time at the crease, but with the Cats sharing the wickets the Sharks were reduced to 8-171.

Adam Marsland (20 not out) and Aaron Morgan (19) partnered in a late 35-run stand that edged the visitors to Bisinella Oval to a more competitive position. Evergreen medium-pacer Danny Hughes was Lara’s best rewarded bowler with 3-49 from his 29-over spell.
