Pair blown away by wind
WHAT a difference a day can make. Having shot a seven-under 65 on Friday, Australian legend Karrie
Webb would have been on top of the world entering the third round, but struggled against the elements to record a 10-over 82. It was a turnaround worthy of almost one stroke a hole, but she wasn’t the only one who found the wind on the Beach course challenging. Aussie Matt Jager had registered back-to-back rounds of 66 to head into the weekend as one of the leading contenders at 12-under, but fired a nine-over 81 to sensationally miss the cut for yesterday. Jager started with a triple-bogey, backed it up with a double and was six-over after three holes.
