Bannockburn opens course to all for 88th tournament
BANNOCKBURN Golf Club will host its 88th annual open tournament starting February 22.
The picturesque bush course on the BannockburnShelford Rd is in outstanding condition, with lush, green fairways.
Bannockburn is renowned for its country-style hospitali- ty, both on and off the course.
The feature 27-hole men’s open is on Saturday, February 23, with prizes across a number of divisions.
The food for lunch is also a winner.
The open also incorporates an 18-hole morning competition and nine-hole afternoon event. Entry costs $30. The opening event of the four-day tournament is the Norm Carroll Memorial men’s four-ball par on the Friday, with a noon shotgun start and a $30 fee per team.
A veterans event is incorporated on the day, with the best score of the day winning the Norm Carroll Memorial Trophy. A four-person Ambrose event (any combination) will be played on Sunday, February 24, with a noon shotgun start and a cost of $60 a team.
The open tournament ends on Monday, February, with the women’s Stableford event with a 10am shotgun start, for $20.
