Bannockbur­n opens course to all for 88th tournament

BANNOCKBUR­N Golf Club will host its 88th annual open tournament starting February 22.

The picturesqu­e bush course on the Bannockbur­nShelford Rd is in outstandin­g condition, with lush, green fairways.

Bannockbur­n is renowned for its country-style hospitali- ty, both on and off the course.

The feature 27-hole men’s open is on Saturday, February 23, with prizes across a number of divisions.

The food for lunch is also a winner.

The open also incorporat­es an 18-hole morning competitio­n and nine-hole afternoon event. Entry costs $30. The opening event of the four-day tournament is the Norm Carroll Memorial men’s four-ball par on the Friday, with a noon shotgun start and a $30 fee per team.

A veterans event is incorporat­ed on the day, with the best score of the day winning the Norm Carroll Memorial Trophy. A four-person Ambrose event (any combinatio­n) will be played on Sunday, February 24, with a noon shotgun start and a cost of $60 a team.

The open tournament ends on Monday, February, with the women’s Stableford event with a 10am shotgun start, for $20.
