Credit cards among items stolen in Lara
IN LARA, two garages were targeted with items stolen including alcohol, cigarettes, credit cards, vehicle keys and jewellery.
In Colac offenders took cash, prescribed drugs and jewellery from homes, while clothing was stolen from a house in Clifton Springs. Power tools were pinched from a shed in Deans Marsh and building tools from a house in Fyansford. A BUSINESS in North Geelong was targeted, while alcohol and other consumables were stolen from a sports facility.
Building materials were stolen from a business in Moolap, a factory was hit in Lara and a warehouse storage facility was targeted in Mount Duneed.
Building materials were stolen from a school, while a retailer in Winchelsea also had building/power tools stolen. INCIDENTS occurred in Corio, Curlewis, Grovedale, Waurn Ponds (attempt only), Newcomb, North Shore and Lara.
Vehicles were mainly stolen from residential streets but also from a factory ( North Shore) and a farm house ( Lara).
Six of the stolen vehicles have been recovered in various suburbs around Geelong. INCIDENTS continue to occur throughout various suburbs, with a higher number this past week reported in the northern suburbs of Corio, Norlane and Lara.
The majority of incidents are occurring during the night, mostly in residential streets (driveways/carports and in front of houses) from unlocked vehicles.
Other thefts from vehicles occurred at a beach carpark ( Eastern View) and a construction site ( South Geelong).
Numberplates also continue to be stolen. INCIDENTS were spread throughout various suburbs with multiples occurring in Geelong, Corio/Norlane, Grovedale/Belmont and Newcomb/Thomson.
Nearly a third of the incidents involved graffiti damage and occurred at locations including a motel, office, a house under construction, a sports facility and train station.
