We’ve got you covered with the top 10 holiday boredombus­ting board games from the team at Mind Games in Geelong.

Old favourite Monopoly doesn’t make the cut, but it’s still the talk of the town with Geelong set to get its own version of the popular board game.

The game’s makers are still taking suggestion­s on which local spots should feature on the board.

Frontrunne­rs are the Geelong Performing Arts Centre, the You Yangs and Geelong botanic gardens.

Shops in Geelong are already taking pre-orders for the local Monopoly, and Mind Games’ Michele Bent is expecting it grow in popularity.

“I expect once it hits the shelves the demand will grow. We’re expecting a very positive response to the game,” she said.

“I think this game is something unique and Geelong should embrace it and be proud of it.”

Anyone can nominate locations they wish to see featured on the board via the Geelong Monopoly Facebook page.

Hive requires no set up and can be played on any flat surface. HAPPY SALMON A “great little game” for younger kids, Happy Salmon involves flipping cards and doing actions — whatever pops up on the card. AZUL Craft a patterned mosaic and earn points with this awardwinni­ng, tile-based game. DIXIT A clue-giving game, with “beautiful artwork”, Dixit won the prestigiou­s Spiel des Jahres Award in 2010.
