Not much more he can do for an AFL recall. Another dominant performance through the middle, finishing with 22 possessions and two goals. Both of those majors came when the game was on the line in the last term. Ran himself into the ground in the final quarter, coming off with cramp in both calves. Had 15 disposals and kicked a goal in another solid performance. Covered some territory on the ground and was always valuable at the contest. Edging closer to an AFL game, but is definitely behind Parsons. Came off with the traditional Selwood cut above the eye. But it was another really solid game from the youngest Selwood. Had his right hamstring rubbed at threequarter time, but wasn’t anything serious. Finished with 20 touches and 11 tackles. Sensational. Having been an AFL emergency in the past two weeks, a call up must be imminent. Nine possessions and 19 hitouts. Took a nice mark late in the game. It was a similar performance to Ryan Abbott (10 touches and 17 hit-outs). Looked really dangerous when he was serviced properly by the midfield. Covered a fair bit of ground, finishing with 12 possessions and 2.3. Certainly will come into contention if Esava Ratugolea continues to struggle with his hamstring and Darcy Fort doesn’t fire. Comfortably one of his best games of the season — 19 touches and a goal. He certainly has great running ability and covers the ground well. Still a fair way off AFL selection, but is showing nice improvement. Floated in and out of the contest, but was huge when the game was on the line late. Jones (14 disposals) was one of those Cats who seemed sloppy with his disposal earlier in the game. However his ability to break the lines was crucial late. Laid one of the biggest tackles you’ll see in the final term in a truly inspiring act. Comfortably his best game this year. Will certainly learn a lot from the outing, spending time on Jarryd Roughead. The best thing is the Irish recruit isn’t afraid to make mistakes and is comfortable flying for the ball. Second game back from some hamstring issues and was superb. Clean around the contest, broke lines with his pace and used the ball well. Narkle finished the game with 22 touches, but he didn’t lay a tackle. He needs to work on that.
