GROVE TEEN VANISHES
A FAMILY holiday has turned into a nightmare for Ocean Grove parents after their 13year-old daughter vanished from their Queensland holiday residence.
Tahlia Tracey was last seen in the early hours of July 9 at Tullawong Drive, Caboolture — about an hour north of Brisbane.
The 13-year-old had played board games with her family late on Monday evening, but by morning she had disappeared.
Parents Samantha and Adam Boswell said they feared for the safety of their daughter. “She hasn’t made contact with anyone, so just really stressed out,” mother Samantha Boswell told Seven News.
“We do know she is in contact with someone from the Brisbane area.
“We are concerned she could have possibly got in a car with someone.”
The family had been travelling along the east coast on a sightseeing trip for the past few weeks, before stopping in Caboolture to visit family.
Police believe the 13-yearold may have left the residence voluntarily and could be staying with unknown people in either Mansfield or Brisbane.
“She could be hanging out with some of our street kids here in Caboolture,” Queensland Police, Detective Acting Sergeant Brendan Raby told Seven News.
“Or there is a possibility she’s trying to get her own way back down to Victoria, which is a concern for us.”
Police hold grave concerns for the teenager due to her age and a medical condition. She has not made contact with her parents since her disappearance almost a week ago, leaving her phone behind at the Queensland residence.
The 13-year-old is described as caucasian, approximately 155cm tall with shoulderlength black hair, brown eyes and a proportionate build.
Anyone who sees Tahlia or has information on her whereabouts is urged to call Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
