WERRIBEE 62 d EAST GEELONG 30 EAST Geelong was unable to match it with the powerful Centrals outfit, as the absence of key defensive power caused a shuffle of positions.

Ellie Tubbs took advantage of the circumstances, sinking 37 goals to give the Centrals the upper hand.

Natasha Dimkovski continued her brilliant form through centre, creating plenty of turnovers.

Claudia Cook was forced back deeper into defence for East and battled hard against taller opponents, but her drive into attack was sorely missed.

Sarah Ruddell was elevated from B-grade and turned in a gritty display on the defensive wing for East. INVERLEIGH tuned up with a 28-goal win over North Geelong in a high-scoring game.

Hawks shooter Georgia Lang capitalised on her team’s mid-court dominance with a superb return of 58 goals.

Best-on-court Kelsey Whyte was at her best in the mid-court, providing constant drive into the scoring circle, where Vanessa FinleyMcDonald provided the perfect support role.

Magpies goal attack Shae Rowbottom worked tirelessly with Silvia Luczo in attack to keep their team in the game, while the underrated Rai Livesey was a rock in defence. WINCHELSEA is finally putting a consistent four-quarter game together, recording its seventh win for the season.

Another outstanding performance from defensive pair Steph Hillman and Lilian Kent enabled the Blues to keep the free-scoring Giants in check.

Giants shooter Naomi Maaka still managed to find the net 28 times in a quality display. Daria Beck was equally effective in defence for West, but star veterans Kendall Carracher and Casey Carroll imposed themselves on the contest in a thrilling last quarter to allow Winchelsea to pull away to a four-goal win. THOMSON’S dynamic scoring pair of Emma Witham (43) and Errin Lang (34) shot at 80 per cent to dominate.

Allie Drake acquitted herself admirably in defence for the Tigers, linking with SarahJane Ross to create a stream of scoring opportunities.

Cassidy Nelson dropped in another 35 goals for Anakie, feeding off the good work of Ashlee Roach in mid-court. THE Lions grabbed an early break and built on their control to score a much-needed victory. The dominant shooting of Belmont’s Naomi Edwards was on display and her 50-goal return won her the best-oncourt honours.

Heidi Uwland was adjudged the Panthers’ best as she fought hard in defence, while the 34 goals from Louise Johnston gave the losers a strong target in attack. BANNOCKBURN was rarely troubled, cruising to a big win over the deflated Corio team.

Alana Nicol was the most prominent mid-court player in the game, constantly driving the ball into attack for the Tigers.

Chloe Reardon led a superb Tigers defence and the league’s best goal attack, Georgia Duncan, produced her very best again.

Teenage debutant Jessie Blackney gave Corio a big lift, as she looks set for a fine career at this level. Star goal keeper Zoe Donne was at her best despite the waves of attack.
