A BIG WEEK FOR A LITTLE FAN

- DAMIEN RACTLIFFE

KEISHA Low has enjoyed a week to remember, spending quality time with her hero, Geelong captain Joel Selwood.

The five-year-old, who has cerebral palsy, was selected by the Cotton On Group to spend the week with her Cats favourites, going shopping at Cotton On Kids, spending a day at training on Wednesday and visiting some horses.

“It’s a reminder that footy is just such a small part too, but that we can make a big influence on some lives,” Selwood said.

“(Parents) Debbie and Shane with little Keisha have been to hell and back at times, but the joy you can see on her face is pretty special.”

Mum Debbie described seeing the smiles on Keisha’s face as “precious”.

“We’ve all had a ball, thanks to Cotton On and the Geelong Football Club,” she said.

“Keisha had to go for a drive in the car with Joel down to Cotton On Kids in town and do a big shopping spree, and then out to the horses and some lunch. Then we got to come back to GMHBA Stadium and get shown around the stadium and watch a bit of training and get shown in some of the rooms, and get some photos, lots of photos.”

And it was in the No. 14 jumper that Keisha enjoyed laughs with the Geelong superstar.

“Joel and ‘ Scooter’ (Scott Selwood) and ‘ Danger’ (Patrick Dangerfield) are her three favourites, but she’s also starting to like (Rhys) Stanley because she’s had some photo shoots done with him,” Debbie said.

“But Joel and Scooter are definitely her favourites at the moment.”

Keisha and older sister Kiarni will join the Cats running through the banner at tonight’s game.
