Great escape to Wye River

- OLIVIA REED

A WYE River property is vying for the title of the best holiday home in the nation.

The Sea Ranch abode’s breathtaking style earned it a place as a finalist in the design category of Stayz Holiday Home of the Year awards.

The awards find and recognise Australia’s best holiday homes, and are split into four categories: design, pet friendly, unique and family friendly.

Stayz head of PR Simone Scoppa congratulated all property owners whose holiday homes made the list of finalists for 2019.

“With over 55,000 properties across Australia available on the Stayz website, it’s no mean feat making it to the top 24, so they should all be very proud,” Ms Scoppa said.

The finalists were selected based on a range of criteria such as quality of images accompanying their Stayz listing, standard of guest reviews and holiday home description, as well as category-specific criteria.

Judge and Foxtel Lifestyle group of channels general manager Wendy Moore has revealed her insights into what she will be looking for to award the ultimate winners of each category of the Stayz Holiday Home of the Year Awards.

“Holiday homes are for relaxing, having a new experience with friends and family and making lifelong memories,” Ms Moore said.

“You want the features of the home to help facilitate this, so I will be looking for the extra special touches as well as jaw-dropping design and interiors, of course.”

The list of finalists reveals NSW as home to an impressive seven out of the 24 properties, followed by five in Victoria, four in Queensland, three in both South Australia and Western Australia, and two in Tasmania.

People can become involved in the judging process by heading to stayz.com.au/ awards to vote.

The highest vote getter will be crowned the 2019 People’s Choice. All voters are in the running to win a $1000 travel voucher towards their next Stayz adventure.

Winners of each category will be announced on October 16.
