TIGER MAY GO WEST

- SAM EDMUND

KAMDYN McIntosh is open to leaving Richmond if a rival club presents the right deal.

McIntosh signed a new two-year deal with the Tigers in July, but was dropped only a week after putting pen to paper and couldn’t get back into the senior side.

The wingman’s increasing frustration was compounded by the Tigers’ decision to withdraw him from the VFL grand final as insurance for an AFL decider he wasn’t selected for.

McIntosh, 25, was running second in Richmond’s best-and-fairest after Round 8 and was hurt by missing out on a premiership of either kind.

He leaves for an overseas holiday on Sunday and is open to the idea of leaving Punt Road in search of regular senior football.

McIntosh looms as the perfect target for Fremantle and its new coach Justin Longmuir, hailing from Perth and coming through Peel Thunder.

JON PATTON’S injury-ravaged journey at the Giants is over with the club to thrash out a deal with Hawthorn during the trade period.

The 26-year-old met GWS officials during an exit interview yesterday and although he remains contracted for 2020, the Giants understand his desire to start afresh elsewhere.

The No.1 pick of the 2011 draft played 89 games in eight seasons but also suffered three ACL injuries. The most recent injury occurred in July 2018 during a training session and he hasn’t kicked a ball in anger since.

ORAZIO FANTASIA flew into Adelaide yesterday as speculation rages he will ask for a trade to South Australia.

When asked at Adelaide Airport what was the purpose of his trip to SA, the 24-year-old Fantasia said it was just a family visit.

But he did not answer when asked if he would be playing for Essendon next year.

Both Adelaide teams are interested in Fantasia should he ask for a trade and it is understood he believes he can secure one, but Port Adelaide is leading the race.

Collingwood star JAMIE ELLIOTT is unsure where he will continue his AFL career next season after a meeting with Magpies football chief Geoff Walsh.

Elliott, who is an unrestricted free agent, played 16 games this season after missing all of 2018 through injury and is believed to have attracted interest from Melbourne and Hawthorn.

The 27-year-old, who also missed all of the 2016 season with back and hamstring injuries, was intent on returning to form on the field before talks on a new contract.
