BURGLARY (RESIDENTIA­L)

MULTIPLE incidents were reported in St Leonards, Newtown/Geelong West, Highton, Bell Park and Colac.

As well as residentia­l premises, thieves also targeted other locations including guesthouse­s ( Geelong West, Wandana Heights), holiday homes ( Barwon Heads, St Leonards) and houses being built ( Highton, Bell Park, Colac).

Items stolen included building and power tools, clothing, computer items and cash.

BURGLARY (OTHER)

THIEVES struck during the night in suburbs including Newcomb, Geelong North, Highton, Belmont and Moolap.

Among the businesses affected were warehouses, offices, retail stores, supermarke­ts and schools ( Newcomb, Belmont), as well as a medical centre ( Highton), a car wash ( Newcomb) and a restaurant ( Geelong North). Sports areas in Belmont and Ocean Grove were also burgled. Building and power tools, cash, computer items, and clothing were stolen.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

MULTIPLE vehicles were stolen in Corio, Belmont and Thomson.

Vehicles have been recorded as recovered or located in Norlane (stolen from Belmont), Whittingto­n (stolen from Corio and Whittingto­n), Bell Park (stolen from Geelong North), Norlane (stolen from Belmont and Herne Hill), Geelong North (stolen from Newcomb) and Corio (stolen from Thomson).

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

MULTIPLE offences occurred in Newtown, Geelong West, Highton, Bell Post Hill, Corio, Grovedale, Rippleside and Barwon Heads.

Most incidents happened at night, with thieves breaking into cars parked in residentia­l areas as well as on the streets generally. Items taken included tools, cash, handbags/purses/wallets with credit cards, keys and smaller computer items.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

VANDALS were particular­ly active in Geelong, Grovedale , Norlane and Newcomb this past week, although incidents were reported in many suburbs.

Most involved damage to vehicles, windows or fences, or graffiti.

While many of the reports related to homes and residentia­l streets, property damage was also reported at shopping complexes and stand-alone shops, offices, train stations ( Geelong, Corio), schools ( Ocean Grove, Elliminyt) and licensed premises ( Geelong, Geelong West).
