Surf Coast councillor a no-show

bined star power could make their Sussex Royal brand a $2 billion behemoth.

Netflix, which has been on a spending spree, is among the partners looking to work with Harry and Meghan, who plan to set up their own TV production company, it was reported. They plan to do voiceovers for documentaries about worthy causes.

Meghan was also linked to a deal with exclusive fashion house Givenchy, although the company has denied the report in London’s The Times newspaper.

There is no love lost between Harry and Prince Charles, 71, who has been growing in influence at Buckingham Palace as the Queen, 93, slows down.

Prince Charles was a key player in the decision to boot Prince Andrew, 59, from royal duties in November, and his say would have swayed the discussions on Harry.

Prince Andrew joined the Queen at church on Sunday, despite the headlines he has made over his controversial links to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Prince Andrew has publicly denied any wrongdoing.

Harry and Meghan will no longer take public funds and repay the $5 million cost of renovations to their UK home Frogmore Cottage under the deal with the Queen announced at the weekend, which also prevents them using their Royal Highnesses titles.

Prince Charles, who pays Harry and Meghan up to $4 million each year from his investment vehicle, The

Duchy of Cornwall, will review the deal in 12 months as he worried about the couple’s expensive lifestyle plans, the UK Daily Telegraph reported.

A senior royal source told The Sun that Harry and William had sorted out their differences.

“They decided to cut out all the toxic people stirring around them to deal with each other man-to-man as brothers,” the source said.

“Given Harry is now permanently moving away, there was a realisation if they didn’t sort things out now, they never would.”

Harry delivered his speech yesterday at an event for his charity Sentebale, which helps children living with HIV in Botswana and Lesotho.

“Once Meghan and I were married we were excited, we were hopeful and we were here to serve. For those reasons it brings me great sadness that it has come to this,” he said.

“The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back is not one I made lightly, it was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges.

“And I know I always haven’t got it right but as far as this goes, there really was no other option.”

Harry also rejected cism of Meghan.

“I also know that you have come to know me well enough over all these years to trust that the woman I chose as my wife upholds the same values as I do,” he said.

“And she’s the same woman I fell in love with.” criti

A SURF Coast councillor has retained her crown as the shire’s most absent member, ditching more than 30 meetings and briefings in a sixmonth period.

The Surf Coast Shire’s latest councillor attendance document has revealed Winchelsea Ward councillor Heather Wellington was absent from 32 of a possible 44 meetings and briefings in the first half of 2019/20.

Attendance records show Ms Wellington has attended just two of the 76 briefings and assembly of councillors held since July 1, 2018.

Cr Wellington last year said she did not see briefings and assemblies of councillors as the best use of her time.

“Briefings are always scheduled during usual working hours on Tuesdays,” Cr Wellington said at the time. “I have asked numerous times over many years for at least some briefings to be scheduled in the evening, to reasonably enable councillors who hold down full-time or substantial fulltime employment to attend. Those requests have been rejected.

“The system discriminates against councillors who hold full-time or substantial fulltime employment.”

Cr Wellington had also questioned the need for extensive briefings.

The latest attendance record shows Mayor Rose Hodge was the only member of council with a perfect attendance record in the first half of the financial year, attending all 44 meetings and briefings.
