Dealer busted drug mix in his car

- GREG DUNDAS

A WOULD-BE Falls Festival drug dealer spent the weekend in police cells for new drug offences.

Cooper Stuckey was released from custody Monday after being caught in a car in Colac on Friday with methamphetamine, ecstasy, cannabis, Viagra and other substances.

Geelong Magistrates’ Court heard the drugs were in small quantities for personal use, but Stuckey had prior convictions, including trafficking offences, to his name.

The 21-year-old spent New Year’s Eve 2018 in the police cells after being caught with larger stashes of ketamine, ecstasy, LSD, ice and cannabis he planned to sell at that year’s Falls Festival near Lorne.

Protective Services Officers apprehended Stuckey with a backpack loaded with those drugs near Geelong train station on his way to the music event days after Christmas that year.

He was later found guilty of trafficking and ordered to do unpaid work as part of community corrections order.

In the latest incident, police first noticed Stuckey driving a Hyundai sedan on Stewart St, Colac, about 4.15pm Friday.

When they pulled him over they saw an ice pipe in the car and found the drugs.

An oral fluid test found he’d been taking drugs, and it was also discovered he was unlicensed.

Magistrate Michael Coghlan warned Stuckey he risked being resentenced after breaching his community corrections order, but was not hearing that charge yesterday.

On counts of drug possession, Stuckey was sentenced to four days in prison, allowing for his release yesterday.

He was also disqualified from holding a driver’s licence for six months.
