GEELONG recruitment and labourhire agency People@Work says national recognition of its excellence in corporate social responsibility is a victory for its “people-over-profits philosophy”.

A social enterprise of Gforce Employment Services, People@Work and Gforce last year donated more than $240,000 to the local community, taking its total past $4 million in recent years.

At the height of the coronavirus crisis earlier this year. it also launched a talent share initiative for not-forprofit health-sector service providers and their employees.

The Share Our Staff initiative created a conduit between NFPs that were standing down staff and the other support services who needed to temporarily expand.

At the annual RCSA Industry Awards celebrating the best of best in the recruitment, staffing and workforce solutions sector in Australia and New Zealand, People@Work won the excellence in corporate social responsibility award.

Its engagement and social procurement manager, Brenden Caligari, said the organisation was honoured to receive the award as it recognised its community-focused ethos and its people-over-profits philosophy.

Mr Caligari said People@Work and Gforce donated 100 per cent of their annual corporate surplus back to the local community through employment initiatives such as GROW and the Regional Industry Sector Employment Program, along with supporting many not-forprofit, community and welfare organisations.

Usually a lavish ceremony, this year’s award presentation was broadcast online, due to COVID-19.
