FOUR TALKING POINTS WITH TOMAHAWK

- JOSH BARNES

What do you make of the impending match-up with star Brisbane Lions defender Harris Andrews?

“He’s a gun, he’s a youngish player but is really mature. I had the opportunity to play with Harris earlier this year in the bushfire (charity) game. For me I always look forward to playing on really good defenders and it doesn’t always go my way. But for once I might have smaller ears than the man I’m playing on.”

How has your forward line sidekick Esava Ratugolea progressed lately?

“I love the fact that he wants to be a great player and he gets a little bit frustrated with himself but I know that he is going to get there. It just takes a little bit of time as we have seen with key position players, they just seem to take a bit longer. (But) he is a great talent.”

Are you looking forward to playing in front of fans at the SCG?

“Knowing we are playing at the SCG, I keep thinking we are going to be playing the Swans.

It’s going to be a bit unique playing Brisbane, I think it’s our home game and it will be the first game of the year with fans. It’s going to be really different.”

How are you filling in time around the hotel in Sydney?

“You can fall into the trap of staying up with your teammates and playing table tennis all night, which thankfully I haven’t done but there is no doubt I will.

I have managed to keep my normal bed time and waking up time. It’s felt more like an interstate trip that we have been on in previous years, it will obviously change when we get to Perth and we are under strict conditions.”
