Mum’s big Keno win surprise

- BRETT SMITH

A GEELONG mum went to bed thinking she had won a $5000 Keno prize, but woke up to discover she had won more than $93,000

The woman, who had a Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry on Thursday, plans to use her $93,380 prize towards a new family home.

“I was laying in bed, about to go to sleep and every now and again I like to play Keno for a bit of fun,” she said.

“I was watching the draw and I saw all the numbers come up.

“But I didn’t see how much I’d won, and because I don’t play that often, I thought I might have won maybe $5000.

But when she woke and went online to check the prize it was a much better result.

“I kept thinking, ‘Is this real? No way’,” she said. “It’s wonderful, I just can’t believe it.

“I can’t really do too much, but I think I will order some takeaway for dinner and get something special to drink. This is worth celebrating.”

The emotional winner said life would look very different.

“This has changed my life forever,” she said. “It is a huge win for me. It’s incredible.

“I can finally buy myself a house. I am going to start looking online. It’s so exciting.”
