LOCALS JOIN TV LOVE QUEST

MEET OUR FARMER WANTS A WIFE HOPEFULS:

- TAMARA MCDONALD

THREE local women will search for love on the nation’s TV screens in the upcoming season of Farmer Wants a Wife.

Jessica, Stacey and Amber will look to take their quests for romance off the beaten track, vying for the hearts of three different country blokes.

From the thousands of single women who saw their profiles online and applied to meet them, each of the five farmers featured this season has chosen their favourite eight to join them for a series of dates. Each farmer can then take four women home to their farms.

South Geelong’s Jessica, 25, works in real estate and said she applied as she had grown tired of being the single one at the table. In the midst of a “man drought”, she said she was constantly the third wheel.

“With my background and personality, the farm life is my cup of tea,” she said.

“I think I’m looking for a best friend who can give me the love I’m looking for.”

Stacey, 28, grew up on a farm in southwest Victoria and works on farms doing tasks including stock work. She wants to raise kids surrounded by love and animals on a farm, reflecting her own upbringing.

Stacey has spent the past few years travelling around properties while being based in Grovedale, and said her friends had pushed her to apply for Farmer Wants a Wife.

Amber, 36, has recently come out of a long-term relationship, and feels ready to be confident about what she wants in a relationship.

She chose to pursue farmer Nick, who owns a vineyard in Tasmania – one of Amber’s favourite parts of the world.

Farmer Wants a Wife kicks off on Channel 7 on Sunday at 7pm and continues Monday at 7.30pm.
