Nick Jr 703, 4.30pm This animated fare centres around Swift, a blue jay and the fastest pilot at the Top Wing Academy; penguin Penny, who is an expert at undersea life; puffin Brody, who prefers life on terra firma; and Rod, a rooster who loves to get out and about in his all-terrain vehicle. Together these mates and cadets-in-training are striving to earn their wings and become rescue birds on Big Swirl Island. In today’s episode, the cadets discover haunted pirate treasure. Meanwhile, chief mechanic Bea helps Penny with her underwater repair badge when a submersible barge springs a leak. It’s all about teamwork in the end, as the little ones are about to find out.

This week, Fox Classics will pay tribute to Stewart’s glittering career by playing some of his most memorable movies, all brimming with his trademark drawl and everyman charm. It all kicks off tonight with 1965’s Shenandoah, followed by Winchester
’73 on Tuesday; Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece Vertigo, also starring Kim Novak, on Wednesday; The Man
Who KnewToo Much on Thursday and The Flight of the Phoenix on Friday. If you’re a fan of old Hollywood, you’re in for a real treat.

FOX Showcase 115, 11am (encore 8.30pm) ncore This new 10-episode drama series is based on the 2016 novel by Matt Ruff and follows Atticus Black (Jonathan Majors) as he joins his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and his Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) to embark on a road trip across 1950s segregated America in search of his missing father. In tonight’s second episode, Leti and George luxuriate in their new surroundings, while Atticus grows suspicious of their hosts – Christina Braithwhite and her elusive father Samuel – for good reason. Expect this terrifying horror-drama, which also stars Michael Kenneth Williams and Australian actress Abbey Lee Kershaw (pictured), to be the darling of the upcoming awards season.
