Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives discovered a suspicious device in a tree near a Monterey Drive address late on Sunday morning.
The Bomb Response Unit also examined the device at the scene.

Police were investigating after an initial emergency services call-out to the same address at 2.25am on Sunday after an “unknown device” was set alight near a letter box.
The item was engulfed in flames but quickly extinguished by firefighters and there were no injuries.
Late on Sunday Victoria Police advised the area was safe, but it remained cordoned off by police tape on Sunday evening as a precaution.
