$10M LUXURY COAST HOME HITS THE MARKET:
A LUXURY home on the prestigious Barwon Heads Golf Club course has hit the market with $10m price hopes.
The Simon Swaney-designed residence built from rammed earth overlooks the first six holes of the famous links course.
The five-bedroom home at 2-4 Stephens Parade is packaged with a neighbouring house and is expected to sell for a combined value of more than $10m.
RT Edgar Barwon Heads agent Peter Molloy has launched an international search for a buyer, which has already sparked interest from the US and has locals talking.
“We’ve already had interest from the United States. It’s going to go absolutely ballistic,” Mr Molloy said.
“The word of mouth has been very strong — I’m trying to keep a lid on it so everyone gets a fair run at it.”
The sale has been described as a once-in-100-year opportunity.
“Nothing else has come up that’s like it that’s got uninterrupted ocean views, Port Phillip Heads, the first six holes of Barwon Heads Golf Club,” Mr Molloy said.
“It’s beside the seventh fairway, then you’ve got Stephens Parade, a bit of teatree and then the ocean.”
The house exudes earthy tones, with timber-lined cathedral ceilings, recycled blackbutt floorboards and Mount Angus sandstone showcased inside.
The living zones create a relaxed beachside lifestyle, with every window capturing a picturesque outlook.
“It was one of the first houses that Jarrod Liebhardt built, who’s a local Barwon Heads boy,” Mr Molloy said.
“It has stood the test of time. The rammed earth is stunning.
“And the other house, well it’s due for a makeover. It’s pretty solid but they didn’t build it to get the views, put it that way.”
But does it come with club membership?
“Some people would wish that, but they have to go through the process,” Mr Molloy said. “It’s a very good club, a very welcoming club and one of the world-renowned golf courses.”
The expressions of interest campaign closes on November 27.
