FATHER AND SON CLEAN UP AT HOME

A dad-son duo headlines our BPCA team of the week as the Sykes boys earn their first dual-nomination

-

BAILEY SYKES (Drysdale) 5-30

Another weekly nomination for the left-armer (pictured right), who helped himself to another big haul at home against Portarlington. This one was all the more special for sharing nine wickets with his old man, David.

DAVID SYKES (Drysdale) 4-17

Not to be outshone by Bailey, David Sykes (right) has put together a strong season of his own, with the fourwicket haul taking him to 10 scalps. Could the pair share all 10 wickets at one point this season?

TIM FRANKENBURG (Queenscliff) 58

Rock solid again at the top of the order, Frankenburg has lifted his season average to 47 for his 235 runs.

DYLAN FLANIGAN (Armstrong Creek) 58 not out

Flanigan took care of business for the Titans, batting through a chase of 103 and registering his third halfcentury of the season, moving him to the top of A2 run-scorers.

KANE PICKERING (Barrabool) 73 A virtuoso innings, the Barrabool skipper’s superb knock was

48.99 per cent of his side’s total score and 26.83 per cent of the runs scored in the match.

BEN HARRIS (Barwon Heads) 51 and 2-7

After being one the star performers in B-grade throughout the season, Harris had no problems stepping up to the firsts and knocked up 51 before taking a couple of handy wickets to brush Newcomb aside.

DANIEL HARRISON (wk) (St Leonards) 40

After batting in the lower order this season, Harrison might have found a new home at the top of the order with his 40 coming from 37 balls.

BRETT HARDING (Anglesea) 45 not out and 3-8

Harding has proven to be a masterful find for the Roos and his 231 runs has edged past skipper Ned Cooper (230) for most in A1 at the club this summer. This week he added three wickets to pair with his runs.

NIC FAIRCHILD (Little River) 60 and 1-31

No worries for Little River when chasing 139 against Wallington, with Fairchild putting on 125 with opener Christopher Collins to break the back of the chase.

LACHLAN STOTT (Queenscliff) 3 and 4-38

Ocean Grove was on track for victory against Queenscliff before Stott (pictured right) struck through the middle and lower order, and turned the game.

JORDY GRAHAM (Jan Juc) 2-2

Talk about applying the clamps.

The Sharks leader (above) was untouchable, finishing with remarkable figures of 2-2 from eight overs, including six maidens as Inverleigh made only 67 from

38.5 overs.
