$10m Grove block plan
Three-storey, 17-apartment proposal for The Parade
DEVELOPERS have unveiled plans to build a three-storey apartment block just off a Bellarine town’s main drag.
A planning application lodged with the City of Greater Geelong revealed the $10m designs of the proposed major 17-apartment development on The Parade.
The four-level development is earmarked to include basement carparking with 30 spaces, five ground-floor apartments ranging from two to four bedrooms, eight two-bedroom second-floor apartments and four three-bedroom apartments on the top level.
“The site is located within an established precinct of Ocean Grove, approximately 22km from Geelong and 96km from Melbourne CBD,” planning documents note.
“The land comprises of approximately 815sq m and presents an excellent opportunity to provide a number of various apartment typologies to accommodate the growing community within an established area of Ocean Grove.
“In its current state, the land is relatively flat and is currently occupied by a doublestorey dwelling, which is constructed from weatherboards and sheet roofing.
“The dwelling is proposed to be removed to provide a clear canvas for the proposed development.”
The planning document notes the apartments range from 94sq m to 188sq m, with the apartment block aiming to fit in with the changing face of the area.
“The housing profile is mixed and emerging along The Parade, with many recent knockdown, rebuilds and medium-density
developments,” planning documents note.
“Developments in more recent times along The Parade have evolved from side-by-side
town homes into lifestyle based apartments.”
The planning application will remain open for public comment until August 25.
