Good Leads The Way
United highlights the importance of customer service, diversity and sustainability in the skies.
UNITED AIRLINES RECENTLY LAUNCHED ITS GOOD LEADS THE WAYSM national campaign, showcasing the story of the airline’s industry-leading work in areas like customer service, diversity and sustainability. United does not only lead the way in air travel, but for its travelers, employees and surrounding communities. As part of its mission to be a force for good, United is focused on enhancing the customer experience. More than 500 new, upgraded aircraft will feature larger overhead bins, seatback screens, Bluetooth connectivity and fast Wifi, and United is also the first major global U.S. airline to eliminate change fees on most tickets. Its Connectionsaver technology helped more than 353,000 travelers and counting make connecting flights this year, and the airline gears up to serve more transatlantic destinations than any other U.S. carrier combined this summer. The largest airline across the Atlantic’s app brings ease to the entire travel experience for every customer. United additionally brings the good to local communities. Goals include hiring more than 50,000 people in the next five years, offering unionized, well-paying careers; and training more than 5,000 new pilots, with at least half being women or people of color, by 2030 through the United Aviate Academy. United has invested more in sustainable aviation fuel production than any other airline in the world and has made industry leading investments in electric aircraft. United works tirelessly to reach its goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 100 percent by 2050. And, in 2021, United donated more than $10 million in cash and in-kind contributions to non-profits around the country, as well as donating more than 100 million miles to charities dependent on travel. United prides itself on ensuring employees develop careers, not just jobs. A career with United offers competitive pay and benefits, growth opportunities and the chance to see the world. As the only major U.S. airline with its own pilot training school, United also invested in its people to create a state-of-the-art inflight training center, opening in 2022, in Houston, alongside its already functioning world’s largest flight training center in Denver.
