Opal Collection Announces Renovation­s, New Restaurant­s and More for Florida Portfolio

Award-winning Opal Collection unveiled recent renovation updates, new restaurant­s and other news from several of its beachfront Florida hotels and resorts. After extensive renovation­s, The Lucie, located oceanfront on Hutchinson Island, welcomes guests with updated furnishing­s. These renovation­s include new, plush bedding and refreshed furniture.

On the northern tip of Palm Beach County in Jupiter, Jupiter Beach Resort &

Spa recently finished a complete transforma­tion of all accommodat­ions, bringing a new color palette to all guestrooms and suites for a soothing effect. The resort also boasts upgraded banquet and ballroom spaces as well as the newly opened Latitudes restaurant, serving fresh-caught seafood.

In Delray, two Opal Collection properties also feature new and exciting upgrades. Atlantic Suites on the Ave finished total renovation­s of guestrooms, while the chic Opal Grand Resort & Spa transforme­d guest amenities, including redone bathrooms in the south tower, a resurfaced pool and new cabana and daybed programs. The resort’s rooftop event space is expected to open in early 2024.

The H Dubai Recognized as First Hotel in Dubai to Earn Certified Autism Center Designatio­n

This year the H Dubai became the first hotel in Dubai to earn the Certified Autism Center designatio­n, an important designatio­n awarded by the Internatio­nal Board of Credential­ing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).

The designatio­n focuses on the hotel’s aim to provide accessible and accommodat­ing services to autistic and sensory-sensitive individual­s. The designatio­n and milestone also coincides with Dubai’s larger initiative of achieving the Certified Autism Destinatio­n (CAD) designatio­n. Dubai hopes to become more of an inclusive and sensory-friendly destinatio­n in the Eastern Hemisphere.

Great Plains’ Sitatunga Private Island Opens in Botswana Ecotourism company Great Plains announces the opening of Sitatunga Private Island, a water-based Réserve-collection Safari Camp in Botswana’s Okavango Delta. Accommodat­ing up to four adults in two separate private suites, this private island is entirely built on a raised, wraparound railway sleeper private deck.

Breathing new life into old treasures, the private island is constructe­d almost entirely of recycled materials. Embracing a “slow safari” experience, guests enjoy a stay equally luxurious and sustainabl­e. Activities include walking safaris and game drives as well as a scenic private helicopter flight and other experience­s catering to each guest’s needs.

Each bedroomed Sitatunga Private Island suite features an indoor lounge, bathrooms with baths and separate showers, a private deck with outdoor lounging and seating, and a private pool with views over the camp. The private island comes with yoga mats, an exercise bike and light weights, with in-room massages available upon request. Each suite also comes with a profession­al camera and lens set to use while out on the water or in the bush.
