ADD SOME FLASH

-

After successful releases of the Epic and Rogue lines in previous years built around its Jailbreak technology, Callaway Golf has launched the new Epic Flash drivers and fairway woods.

The new range adds the company’s new ‘Flash Face’ to Jailbreak and other technologies to improve distance and forgiveness.

Flash Face’s internal mapping is made up of dozens of subtle ripples flowing from heel to toe, which work to raise the COR in the centre of the face. The new face technology, improving ball speeds and distance on solid strikes.

To develop the new technology, Callaway utilised artificial intelligence for the first time in golf club design as well as ‘Machine Learning’. The two combining to allow the company’s engineers to run through 15,000 face designs before reaching Flash Face. Far exceeding the capabilities of typical R&D methods, allowing for eight to 10 faces.

Already a winner on the PGA Tour and offered in both a standard and low spin Sub Zero model, Epic Flash drivers also feature a lighter and tighter weaved ‘T2C Triaxial’ carbon crown material which allows for weight to be saved and redistributed for increased moment of inertia (MOI) and forgiveness. And a sliding 16-gram weight delivers ball flight adjustability that is further enhanced by a two degree loft sleeve.

Also employing new Flash Face technology and available in a standard and low spin version, the Epic Flash fairway woods use a forged carpenter steel face cup to produce ball speed gains across the face and two internal Jailbreak bars connecting the sole and crown for the first time in an adjustable fairway. RRP: $799.99 (driver); $479.99 (fairway).
