SWING YOUR WAY TO VEGAS

-

ONE of the largest amateur golf challenges ever run in Australia is underway and you could be the player who heads to Las Vegas for the final.

Leading golf event management company, 3 Links Golf, in partnership with TaylorMade, has launched its 2019 Order of Merit, which is open to all amateur golfers with official Golf Australia handicaps and participation in the event is not specific to any one club or competition.

So, whether entry is via one of the 15 rounds of the 3 Links Golf Challenge Series events, which are held on some of Australia’s best golf courses, or independently via a local club competition, players have the chance to submit their 10 best rounds to be in the running to qualify for the Order of Merit final in Las Vegas, USA, in February 2020.

Qualifiers for the final will receive economy return flights to Las Vegas, three nights’ accommodation, a place at welcome and presentation functions and entry into the all-important final round of golf

Depending on the number of participants in each grade there will be multiple qualifiers via the Order of Merit – all of whom will win their way to the Order of Merit final. Put simply, for every 100 players in a category there will be an Order of Merit qualifier. For example, if there are 120 players in Male A Grade, then the player who comes first on the Order of Merit for that Grade will win. If there are 550 Female B Grade players, there will be 5 winners! Simply, the more players, the more winners (so tell your friends – the more the merrier and the better your chances of going).

Entry into the Order of Merit series is a one-off fee of $99. Your best 10 competition rounds (as referenced by your handicap record) recorded in 2019, until December 31 count.

There are six grades – three male (A, B and C) and three female (A, B and C). The grade you are competing in is determined by your official handicap at the date of joining.

Registered players in the Order of Merit will receive weekly notification of their position throughout the year as well as more than $500 worth of promotional offers from 3 Links Golf and its partners when joining.

If you would like to play in the Challenge Series, upcoming venues include Cypress Lakes G&CC, Lakelands GC, Southport GC (Ladies Only), Royal Adelaide GC (pictured below), Cromer GC and RACV Royal Pines Resort.
