LAYERS OF FEEL
Already renowned for feel and pure profiles, Mizuno’s latest iron range, MP-20, sees the company return to one of its most popular models to improve the feel, while refifirefining refining appearance based on feedback from the world’s best players.
All incorporating the copper plating of the famed TN87 between a ‘Grain Flow Forged HD’ chassis and nickel plating, the MP-20 MB, MMC and HMB offer varied performance.
A pure muscle back, the MP-20 MB features Mizuno’s thinnest topline in recent years, while the muscle of the iron is discreetly tapered to add forgiveness without negatively affecting appearance.
Using the same shape and proportions as the blade, the MP-20 MMC uses two different sized titanium ‘muscle pads’ to save weight that is then precisely located for an increase of forgiveness. The 4-7 irons also incorporate tungsten toe weights for improved launch and stability in the set, which has been refined to offer improved loft specific performance.
Again designed with varied performance from the long irons to pitching wedge, the HMB (Hot Metal Blade) is equally suited as a long iron replacement, or as a full set.
Featuring a hollow body construction with muscle back appearance at address, the HMB utilises multiple materials and a wider sole to offer increased ball speed combined with shot making control. RRP: $269 per iron (MB); $289 per iron (MMC & HMB). Available September 20.
