GLIDE TO A BETTER SHORT GAME

-

To improve upon its previous wedges, PING took a “grip-to-grind” approach when designing the new Glide 3.0 wedges, improving on every aspect to deliver a line of wedges capable of fitting any swing type or preference.

Incorporating a similar multi-material design to the company’s i210 irons, Glide 3.0 wedges combine 431 stainless steel heads with a ‘Custom Tuning Port’ (CTP) insert that is larger and made from a softer elastomer material for a “soft yet solid feel”.The larger insert and new cavity back design also allows for more weight to be shifted to the perimeter, increasing the Glide 3.0’s MOI and delivering an ideal CG location for a penetrating, high spin flight.

Featuring loft specific wheel-cut grooves with a sharper edge radius to increase interaction with the cover of the golf ball and create more friction, the new model is also offered in four sole grinds, including the classic ‘Eye2’, to cater to any turf conditions, swing types or player preferences.

To complete the suite of improvements, the Glide 3.0 wedges feature a ‘Hydropearl 2.0’ chrome finish that helps the head travel through grass, a lighter shaft for improved control and feel and a longer, less tapered grip to allow players to grip down for increased versatility. RRP: $270 (steel); $300 (graphite). Contact: To see the full range of specs, visit www.americangolf.com.au or call (02) 9524 8233 for more information on stockists and fittings.
