NEW TOUR-INSPIRED CAMERON SPECIA SPECIAL SELECT

Scotty Cameron putters are synonymous with the game’s top players. And Titleist’s legendary putter maker has taken inspiration from the flflflatsticks flatsticks he makes for the best players on the planet for the new Special Select range, including eight head designs.

“I’m always inspired by the putters that result from working directly with the best players in the world,” Cameron said. “With Special Select, I wanted to get back to the pure-milled shapes and faces that I’ve been crafting for Tour players for over two decades now. We’ve brought those designs into the modern era with new setups, necks, faces, grips and weights. Every aspect of every putter has been redone. When it all came together, it was pretty special.”

Comprising three blades and five mid-mallet shapes, the new line adds some of Cameron’s proven technologies from previous models to the pure-milled shapes and faces of his Tour putters to create a range of modern classics.

Each Special Select putter is milled from a block of solid 303 stainless steel in the United States for premium feel and performance, the new range’s shapes refifirefined refined by Cameron to feature thinner and flflflatter flatter toplines as part of a sleeker appearance more in line with those played on the top professional Tours around the world.

The three blade models – Newport, Newport 2 and Newport 2.5 – incorporate a soft tri-sole design to improve setup and look at address, with an insert-free face, while all eight head designs benefit from new performance balanced weighting that enlarges sweet spots.

Pushing more weight towards the heel and toe, the new weighting effectively increases the size of the sweet spot and raises stability, the blade models containing tungsten weights and the mallet models – Del Mar, Fastback 1.5, Squareback 2, Flowback 5 and Flowback 5.5 – utilising interchangeable steel weights.

Offered in a range of neck configurations to accommodate varied strokes and preferences that have been refined and updated following a study in neck configurations, the Special Select range features an eye-catching new finish, with four of the five mid-mallet options incorporating 6061 aircraft aluminium sole plates for optimal weight placement and even greater stability. SRP: $629.

T400 - THE MOST FORGIVING TITLEIST

The latest addition to Titleist’s popular T-Series iron range, the new T400 offers distance, launch and forgiveness improvements for moderate swing speed players to ensure there is a Titleist iron for every golfer.

“T400 is the super distance Titleist iron. This club is engineered to get the ball in the air and launch it as far as possible, even when the strike isn’t perfect,” Vice President of Marketing, Titleist Golf Clubs Josh Talge said. “There are so many golfers, particularly players with moderate swing speeds, who can benefit from this technology. T400 gets the absolute most out of your swing while still providing the playability of a Titleist iron along with that look, sound and feel that dedicated players demand.”

Incorporating a hollow-body construction to raise MOI and forgiveness, the T400 features a wide profile and split sole design for improved turf interaction, while progressive sole widths, blade and hosel lengths throughout the set offer loft-specific performance.

Up to 100 grams of high density tungsten is used in each head to optimally place the centre of gravity (CG) and improve stability, the multi-material design allowing the company’s engineers to utilise an extremely thin forged ‘SUP-10 L-Face Insert’ in the 5-7 irons for increased launch and ball speed, which is further enhanced by lightweight shafts and grips. SRP: $299 per iron (steel); $324 per iron (graphite).

PLAYER’S DISTANCE IRONS

Produced in response to feedback from golfers accustomed to playing stronger lofted distance irons but interested in the company’s T100 irons, Titleist’s new T100•S delivers all the benefits of a forged player’s iron with increased distance.

Individually calibrated two degrees stronger, each T100•S iron has been carefully designed to maintain the outstanding turf interaction, feel and shot-shaping control of the original through the same innovative technologies to blend precision and power.

“As we were launching the new T-Series, we met a lot of golfers who were really excited about T100 but had become accustomed to playing stronger-lofted iron sets,” Talge said. “It would have been really easy to just take T100’s and bend them stronger for those players. But by doing that you start to sacrifice the incredible feel and turf interaction – the reasons why players were gravitating toward them in the first place. So our engineers went back and redesigned each individual iron to give these players the stronger lofts and distance they’re looking for, while preserving the performance of that pure forged shape and sole.”

A fully-forged dual cavity construction, thinner, more responsive face, Tour-refined sole shape, progressive set design and the use of high density tungsten co-forged into the heel and toe of the mid and long irons means the T100•S remains closely aligned to its namesake that is the most played iron on the PGA Tour this season. The stronger lofts further widen the appeal of the T-Series range of irons and maximise distance. SRP: $269 per iron (steel); $309 per iron (graphite).
