Beauty buzz
Skin and bodycare products that we’re buzzing about.
Super scrub
Sukin’s Renewing Body Scrub, $17.50, renewed with green tea, is an indulgent treat that’s gentle on the earth as well as the skin. It contains green tea leaves, coconut oil, jojoba oil, rosehip, vitamin E and eco-friendly jojoba esters (beads), leaving the skin smooth and hydrated.
Natural high performer
Beauty brand Atzen’s tagline is ‘superior to organic skin care’ because it contains organic plant and algae extracts and vitamins as well as safe, high-performing peptides and INTACT DNA (bio-available DNA from natural marine origin that retains 10,000 times its weight in water to hydrate cells in the dermis). Just launched in NZ, its DNA Repair Serum,
$172 ( 30ml), helps repair damage caused by the sun and scarring, has anti-inflammatory properties, antioxidants and helps restore elasticity and tightens pores.
Skin rescue
Antipodes Saviour Skin Balm now comes in a mini tube! The 30ml handbag-friendly tube, $19.90, will be your new best friend. It’s great for conditioning cuticles, cracked lips and cracked heels. It’s also handy for shaping eyebrows, applying to the skin after shaving and other skin troubles. A combination of the Australian tea tree flower, totara extract and Vinanza Grape extract, it has antibacterial, antifungal and antimicrobial properties.
The best Christmas cracker
Now here is a Christmas cracker that won’t disappoint.
Linden Leaves ‘In Bloom’ Christmas Cracker, $15, contains a scented hydrating hand cream and nourishing lip balm enriched with Manuka honey and sweet almond oil. It comes in two sensational scents – Pink Petal (a modern floral with top notes of pink petals and grapefruit) and Green Verbena (a fresh fragrance with crisp notes of verbena and bergamot).
Naturally good travel minis
Put these in your overnight bag! We are in love with Savar
Travel Minis, $39, containing four deliciously scented 50ml natural skincare products – Savar Ultra Cleansing Shampoo, Ultra Nourishing Conditioner, Nourishing Body Lotion, and Energising Body Wash. The latter is soap-free, 100 per cent biodegradable and enriched with New Zealand lemon balm and organic sugar cane.
A lighter oil blend
It's hard to believe Trilogy could improve on its original rosehip oil but its new Rosehip Oil Light Blend, $43, has us excited. This beauty oil (use morning and/or night under moisturiser) contains Certified Organic rosehip oil, jojoba seed oil and grapeseed oil, and has a higher linoleic acid content, which balances and moisturises with a lighter consistency suited to combination skin.
