Age World, Emma Mildon, 30, has earned the nickname “spiritual PA”, and she really likes that.

“It means I’m reporting into service to anyone that connects with my content, whether that’s an article online or an actual book, I’m there to help connect people to living a better life,” Mildon says. She does that by simply providing them with the tools that they need to live well, “which is their job. They are the boss, and I’m their PA. I’m doing all the groundwork for them in the holistic sense.” Suggestions of different types of yoga you might like to try, crystals to slip into your bra or aromatherapy therapies you might vibe with.

“The day of the guru is gone. I think millennials, in particular, aren’t looking for a rock star. I like the fact that you literally walk alongside people that are splitting their pants at yoga, farting their way through meditation or have chia seeds stuck in their teeth… we all trip and fall, and get back up again. It’s so cool and so much more real and fun,” says Mildon.

Mildon is currently working on her second book, Evolution of Goddess, due for release in August 2017, which looks at everything from fingerprints to folklore. It studies the environmental factors that go into making someone evolve or self-develop and live well. “Spiritual is just another level for new age, which is another level for living well, and I think if you have all these tools to be able to create an environment for you to thrive, awesome,” Mildon says. “That’s all it’s about in its simplest form. Take out the woo woo and just add in living well, and that’s essentially what you have got. A recipe, tools, menu to be able to pick from.”

One of the first public talks Mildon did was on ‘channelling a soul’s purpose’ at a Wanderlust Festival. “A lot of people came thinking they were going to learn how to channel, be a psychic medium and download their purpose in life and have a vision of what they are meant to be doing. That’s totally not what it’s about because let’s get real,” she says. “We are all human and we all don’t have a super high being connection to whatever we’re meant to be connected with. So it was actually about eight really practical ways to not only tune in but to create. Eight things to inspire them on their journey and be helpful motivators.” (See her tips, opposite.)

Mildon shares that one of the biggest things for her, in terms of her journey and living her purpose, is that the challenges and making mistakes are the beauty of it. Admitting when you are wrong and changing your mind is a good sign that you are evolving and changing as a person.

She has a day job too, as Les Mills online marketing manager, which she loves because it is in tune with her purpose – connecting to her tribe digitally in the space of wellbeing and helping others to live well and feel better. Each week she also sets aside one hour in her diary which she calls ‘expansion mode’ – a time to teach herself something new, whether it be watching a TED Talk or a ‘how to’ YouTube video. “We are so lucky. I call it Google guru. In this day and age we can literally Google so much information and knowledge for free.” Tapping into your soul’s purpose...
