Royal touch

New Zealand’s queen of natural lip colours Karen Murrell has released an exquisite collection of five new shades, named Princesses of the Golden Petals and inspired by the ballrooms of the Palace of Versailles. One of our faves is Blushing Rose, $32, a divine dusky pink. Two metallic shades are also part of the mix – copper and gold – but don’t worry, she uses the same natural ingredients. You won’t be surprised that a Karen Murrell lipstick is now sold every six seconds somewhere in the world.

Gently does it

Trilogy’s new Very Gentle Restoring Oil, $44 (30ml) is the first oil in Trilogy’s sensitive range. Fragrance-free and dermatologically tested, it’s suited to sensitive and highly reactive skin. Deeply nourishing and restoring, this pure plant oil combines essential fatty acids with the antioxidant-rich maqui berry and Omega-7rich sea buckthorn. Plus, it’s certified organic.

Dreamy face scrub

As natural face scrubs go, Dream Cream Face Scrub, $36, gets our tick. This vitamin C- and vitamin E-enriched scrub is a magic combination of finely ground organic Himalayan salt and ground organic orange peel. It’s gentle on the skin, smells utterly delicious and leaves skin feeling smooth and hydrated. Only use this scrub at night, as vitamin C can cause photosensitivity, and take extra care when out in the sun.

Farewell, fungal nails

While it’s tempting to hide fungal nails under nail polish, this creates a dark and moist environment: optimal conditions for the fungus to continue to thrive. However Skinicer oxyperm

permeable nail polish, $39, allows nails to breathe and contains Spiralin, a patented extract of microalgae with antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial properties, making it ideal for ‘hiding’ fungal nails. Meanwhile Spirularin NS serum, $45, helps nails regenerate. The serum is even effective applied over the dried nail polish.

New natural deodorant

Weleda’s new 24-hour roll-on deodorants Weleda Men and

Weleda Citrus, $15.90 each, are not only a great price but they naturally protect by inhibiting bacterial enzymes that decompose sweat, preventing body odour. It does this by using clever ingredients such as liquorice root, witch hazel and litsea cubeba. They can also be safely used directly after hair removal. g
