A time for togetherness

T he countdown is on to the holidays – a favourite time of the year. It’s a time of togetherness, gatherings of family and friends, a touchstone for reconnecting with special people in our lives and an excuse for entertaining.

With these thoughts in mind, Good collaborated with bespoke wholefoods catering duo Phoebe Carr and Emily Read of Together for our cover. I’m sure you agree the platters they created look sensational (they tasted amazing too). Turn to page 90 to uncover their tips for styling a great spread to impress your guests.

One of our favourite foodies, Caralee Caldwell, has also created a party-pleasing menu of fabulous finger food that’s gluten- and refined sugar-free (page 86) that covers most dietary requirements.

Within this issue we also have wonderful ideas for decorating the home – from suspending greenery in water-filled glass bottles with a candle atop (page 72) to wrapping your tree in a festive floral lei (page 76). The journey leading up to preparing for these special celebrations is all part of the fun.

Speaking of journeys, Good’s assistant editor, Natalie Cyra, has just returned from a trip of a lifetime to India with G Adventures (page 56). The Delhi to Delhi 15-day ‘Essential India’ trip saw her explore Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Alīpura and Varanasi as well as see, first-hand, the Women on Wheels and New Delhi Streetkid projects supported by this amazing travel company.

Natalie also wrote the social justice story about the wonderful work of the Cambodia Charitable Trust (page 30). If gifts for the season aren’t your bag, you may like to consider giving here instead. It will truly make a difference.

The impact of what we choose to support and buy can effect positive change, which is why we also celebrate clever product design that is beautiful, functional and a game changer in terms of how we do things (page 34).
