Small changes, big difference
What is the Rainforest Alliance seal?
The Rainforest Alliance seal means that farmers follow more sustainable farming practices that protect the environment, improve their livelihood, and promote human rights of farm workers. It is a symbol of shared responsibility and collective action – one that reinforces the beneficial impacts of responsible choices, all the way from farms and forests to supermarket checkout.
Why is a little green frog used for the symbol?
Frogs are an indicator species whose presence represents a healthy ecosystem. When we no longer see frogs, we know that the environment is compromised. That’s why we ask you to #FollowTheFrog – to make choices that help, not hurt our planet. September 21–27 marks the official Rainforest Alliance #FollowTheFrog campaign, which encourages you to look out for the little green frog seal to shop sustainably. This isn’t only limited to one week, though – do this year round to make a little choice and a little change.
